From Doctor Finder to Engine that Powers the Health Market With Accurate Data

BetterDoctor started four years ago with the sole mission of connecting people to great doctors—that mission remains the same.

Today, we want to let you know that we are pushing pause on our betterdoctor.com doctor search feature and our iPhone app – not because we have slowed in our endeavor to help people search for doctors in a better way, but because we want to double down on increasing our reach to even more people through our data and doctor marketing efforts.

This is an exciting step for us. Our new direction allows us to empower our partners to innovate in the health space.

We are extremely proud that BetterDoctor’s doctor finder and iPhone app have helped over 25 million people find a doctor. With our new approach, our reach increases exponentially.

BetterDoctor has helped over 25 million consumers find doctors by searching by specialty, location, and procedure cost. This data will still be available on our API and validation services.

You will not stop seeing BetterDoctor. We’ll be powering the data behind the platforms where consumers search for a doctor – insurance provider directories and consumer sites like Yelp, etc. We’ll also continue to help doctors put their best foot forward and grow their practices through our doctor marketing services.

Doctors can still leverage BetterDoctor to update their practice information. Startup companies and health organizations can also use BetterDoctor’s data services to power their consumer services.

We cannot wait for the day when finding a doctor is an easy click away. We will continue to build tools to bring trust, confidence, and transparency to the process.

We’re excited to tackle this problem alongside doctors and some of the largest health plans and consumer sites in the nation.

Thank you for all your support along the way!
